Katrin Noon is the creative force behind Spirithouse, a Los Angeles-based

clothing company known for it's unconventional twist on
traditional designs. The clothing is created with a love textiles,
inspired by a background in art, and a commitment to comfort. "Fashion
requires passion, commitment and above all patience."

"As I am a practical person by nature, I don't care much for the
superfluous," Noon explains. " I don't like fashion that is too 'high
concept' or so overdesigned that you can't imagine a person wearing
it. I like function over form, where the clothing works in a
practical way inside an existing wardrobe, and can be worn again and
again." The intimate nature of Spirithouse's operation allows Noon to
truly focus on her customers. "I try to place emotion at the center of
my work so that the designs connect to how a person might feel when
they wear the clothes."

Spirithouse pays special attention to the fit of each garment, which
are produced in small local LA factories. "I continue to work hard
on understanding what that means, " Noon say's. "Some styles are good
for certain sizes and ages and others aren't. Spirithouse is dedicated
to all of our customers and so the collections always have a bit of
youthfulness and a bit of flavor for the person who needs more room
and ease in there stylings. Fit is something you are always
perfecting. The customer that buys me is very loyal. I'm still going
this because of the loyalty of my buyers and the Spirithouse customer,
and they want something new each time. They want it to be Spirithouse
-- they want it to have that look, that feel -- but they want
something new for there wardrobe, so it's really a challenge. I
achieve that through the fabric, which changes with very collection,
so they can get the same style, but often re-fabricated."
